Panos Kontis

Panos Kontis started his journey with the practice of yoga through a traditional but also therapeutic combination. Based on traditional Hatha Yoga, pranayama exercises, exploring the range of motion of different muscle groups and adding functional exercises, SoLunar Hatha Yoga is one of his two distinct practices. His path continued abroad with Daniel Rama by deepening his practice in meditation, mantras, yogic philosophy and in Hatha & Vinyasa practice. At the same time, he worked  and still continues with circus and gymnastics artists such as Andrey Moraru and Janchivdorj Sainbayar, developing his body awareness in the world of Handbalancing. He has managed to stand out as a teacher through the technique, precision and harmony that accompanies each of his lessons. His journey based on the exploration of the wonderful system we call the human body did not stop there, as he is also known for its healing services through Thai massage. Starting from his basic training at Sunshine House, he followed a progressive course continuing with more advanced trainings on T.S.T (Trouble Solving Techniques), Dynamic Thai, Osteo Thai (Osteopathic application through Thai massage) and Craniosacral therapy. His basic principle is always, love and respect towards the human body. Touch with awareness through a sacred connection between body, mind and breath.

Tania in her own words:

I had my first encounter with Yoga in 2004, in my hometown Athens, under the guidance of Savvas Giantsis. In the years that followed I tried different styles but Ashtanga opened a whole new world to me. The tradition and history behind this practice, the strong commitment and dedication it requires fascinated me. After moving to Paris in 2010 I started studying with Patrick Frapeau and practicing Ashtanga Yoga daily. A few years already into the practice, a very difficult moment in my life forced me to dig deeper. I started studying the ancient texts of yoga philosophy in quest of meaning. That, along with the daily practice gradually made my horizons expand. I realised that yoga was about to become something much bigger than a daily physical practice; a life calling. In 2017 my path led me to India. In Mysore I studied with Saraswathi and Sharath Jois - the daughter and the grandson of the late founder of Ashtanga Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. After my first trip to India, I decide to quit my job as a corporate lawyer and dedicate my life to studying and teaching yoga. Ever since then I have been returning to Mysore every year. In February 2022 my teacher Sharath Jois granted me authorisation Level 1 and his blessing to teach. In January 2024, at the end of my 5th trip and after assisting him for one month, he granted me authorisation Level 2 to teach the Intermediate Series. In my teachings I focus on the quality of the breath, as a unique path to harnessing the potential of the body and gradually getting to calm the mind. The way I experience it yoga goes beyond asana; yoga philosophy and how it is still relevant in modern life is one of the things i am passionate about and share with my students. My teaching is tightly knit to the tradition but not dogmatic. My wish is to accompany the students on their journey towards a deeper awareness and show them that with practice, transformation is possible. By sharing the practice of Ashtanga yoga I seek to empower students to become confident and free, unleash their full potential and live a conscious, healthy and meaningful life.
